Today we had a scare. We thought Lily got outside. I got angry. Really, really angry at Michael. I apologized later, after we found her in the basement. I thought he’d let her get by him at the doorway when we had a quick visitor from a Facebook Marketplace buyer. He didn’t deserve my wrath, and he said as much. I don’t blame him.
When I was outside walking around the block looking for Lily, I ran into an old friend who I didn’t know lives in our neighborhood. She was walking her two dogs. I gave them each a cat treat. I asked her to pop a note in our mailbox sometime and said it’d be great to catch up. We had gone through an LGBTQ+ leadership development program about 10 years ago. I hope we’re able to reconnect.
I found out the hair dye I’ve been using, OVertone, has a ton of negative reviews on the Better Business Bureau website with lots of complaints about hair loss, thinning, and breakage. Threw away all that I had left and got my hair cut really short today. I had noticed some thinning right at my hairline and had even contacted my primary care physician about it. She’s going to be prescribing me Propecia. Hopefully it’s not too late. My hair, if you couldn’t tell, is my favorite physical feature (there aren’t a lot of them).
