Did you know the USPS offers a service called Informed Delivery that shows you what mail is coming to your inbox? It’s dumb, and more and more the emails have just as much digital junk as anyone’s junk folder.
It’d actually be a useful service if it: 1) stopped including digital advertising and SPAM in the emails and instead used that screen real estate for, I donno, vaccination campaigns, maybe?! 2) let you block unwanted junk mail from arriving in the first place and 3) was smart enough to link you to a valid bill payment site for utility bills received.
Until then, the service is more clutter than it is useful. I was able to report missing mail once thanks to it, but so far that’s been the only benefit.
On this day in 2013 I was in library school learning how to library. On this day in 2018 I gave a “fuck Trump” speech at a library conference in front of three hundred or so librarians.
Some of my favorite photos from yesterday in Michael’s garden. He thinks I’m a really good photographer and should pick it up as a hobby. I do do pretty well with an iPhone I guess… 🌸 📷
My “uncle” Tom passed away today. He was a renowned photojournalist and professor in Ohio, and a good person. In his later years he was really into creating and lecturing on digital abstract art. He gave me a beautiful piece of his work for my housewarming.

Beyoncé: RENAISSANCE
Me: This is a poem. A compelling and captivating exploration of Blackness, materialism, and higher consciousness nestled jarringly and confidently at the intersection of House, Disco, and R&B. There is nothing like this in her catalog, or in anyone else’s, either. …
Remember the song Bright as Yellow by The Innocence Mission? It was about their only hit in the 90s because it was on a movie soundtrack. Empire Records, maybe?
Anyway this bright yellow 🌻 reminds me of that song. “And I do not want to be a rose, I do not wish to be pale pink…”
I created an Apple shortcut (i.e., modified someone else’s) which allows me to tap an icon on my home screen that appends a shared note with a time stamp. It’s a log for Bonsai’s coughing. It makes me sad every time I press it.
I wrote a thank you note to the commission director from yesterday’s training session, but she doesn’t have a physical address any more since going fully remote.
So, I snapped a picture of the note and emailed it to her 📝 🤳📧✨👍🏼
One of the reasons I’m becoming/I’ve become more of an anti-theist than an atheist. And it’s only going to get worse in this country, the land of the free and the home of the brave. Not sure who that’s referring to, though. Ants, maybe? Ants have it pretty good. 🐜
