🎹 Still audio-reading Resistance by Tori Amos. Still crying in nearly every chapter. She just finished reading The Beekeeper at the end of this chapter about her mother and visions and death and nothing but surely there’s something and so I listened to the song and I’m a wreck. An absolute wreck.

Rather than suffer another sour blueberry, I’d watch a Kardashian on the television. Be a bit like A Clockwork Orange style for me, but I’d do it!

I’m audio-reading Tori Amos’s “Resistance”. It’s incredible, and quite an informative lesson in politics. I’m surprised by how much I’ve learned. Throughout it, she recites songs as spoken word pieces, and let me tell you that woman can emote. She should seriously do like a mini-tour of only spoken word pieces and solo piano pieces. The Deconstruction Tour. I can see it now… But using Apple Books to audio-read has been a lackluster, underwhelming, if not downright frustrating experience.
I mean if the jackboot fits…
Today I learned that being an Authoritarian Follower is, at least in part, a hard-wired genetic thing that impacts about 18-20 percent of us (and republicans take advantage of it all the time).
Lucy is about the same. Wouldn’t eat. Slept all night and almost entirely all of today. Finally ate a few bites of Wendy’s chicken. Had to crush her pills and mix them with water to get them in her. Her eyes are a little brighter and alert today. Definitely not out of the woods though. 🐶❤️🩹

Our Lucy beagle is absolutely wiped out. Another infection and pancreatitis flare up. Also trying to regulate her glucose/insulin without the precise monitoring of a hospital. She still hasn’t eaten but is drinking water and seems to be keeping it down. I’ve not seen her this weak before. 💔💔💔
Lucy wouldn’t eat yesterday, has thrown up at least twice, wet the floor six times overnight, and hasn’t eaten today. She has a tremor. The vet’s first recommendation was get her to the hospital which, financially, isn’t an option for us right now. So we’re here at the vet. Waiting. Hold on to hope.
I’m not a huge U2 fan, but the songs I like, I really like, and Sunday Bloody Sunday chief among them. I guess they re-recorded a chunk of their back catalogue including Sunday…
Am also very much not a fan of artists reworking lyrics because it dilutes the integrity of the piece

📓 Presented a 12-month training plan I created (with ChatGPT at first until I fact-checked it) to a division today. One employee stopped by after to thank me and said it looked great, that she’s excited for it. That made my day.
A lip gloss looked like it would be the same dark shade of red as my frames, but it’s brighter than expected. I’ll still wear it sometimes. Maybe more often than sometimes if anti-trans legislation keeps being passed. A “Read My Ruby Red Lips” social media campaign in the making, perhaps? 💋🏳️⚧️✊
