😡 That time (like two weeks ago) when my dad, who watches Fox News and reads the Wall Street Journal like a Bible, tried to clock me on checking information for bias because liberal media.
I literally have a master’s degree in information science.
Don’t come at me saying I don’t know how to screen for information bias. Nope. Don’t do it.
(And yes, I know I have plenty of unconscious biases.)
🤬 That time (like two weeks ago) when my dad said doctors are performing gender reassignment surgery on minors despite the “mountains of evidence that it’s wrong” because it benefits them financially. He literally thinks that doctors are performing gender reassignment surgery in droves so they can pay off their loans.
💸 We’re in debt up to our eyeballs. Feels like it happened overnight, but with thousands we paid to save Lucy plus our champagne taste…we’re going to look seriously at it all this weekend. Sigh.
📮 I took a chance yesterday and texted the number I had for my high school friend, Krista, and said happy birthday. She texted back and confirmed it was her! I’ll need to ask for her address and send her a postcard or something.
🎂 The one and only thing I miss about Facebook is not being able to check in and say happy birthday to an ol’ friend like Krista from high school. I saw today’s her birthday on my calendar. Wait a tic. Do I have her phone number? It’s probably not current if I do. But maybe I’ll send a happy birthday message anyway.
🍔 Having lunch with husband and two coworkers (now friends) from my old job today. I said we should walk into the restaurant like the Hot Lunch Jam scene in the 1980 movie Fame. For some reason, nobody is taking me up on that.

Some photos of Lily and Pete. I love how Pete kinda just hangs there on the top of the couch. And how her whiskers are like completely parallel to the ground. 🐈⬛
