An eBay seller reached out to explain a delay in shipping to her most recent purchasing clients.
She shared that she’d just lost her spouse to cancer, and was glad he was no longer suffering and now in “God’s Kingdom.”
I tried to reply in a way that was kind and respectful while acknowledging our different beliefs:
I’m so sorry. While I’m personally not a believer my heart does ache for human loss, and I am grateful that you have a faith that brings you some comfort. Wishing you much solace and peace.
And I guess I just feel like that’s how nations should be governed.
