I just sent this message via MyChart to a local hospital network. Not sure why they’re using this Optimizely service, but I doubt it’s to provide a better user experience.
Hi. This morning I tried to access the ohiohealth.com website from my home network and could not.
I use NextDNS primarily for heavy ad & tracker blocking and your url looked like it was trying to resolve to optimizely.com.
I realize I probably don’t resemble a typical site visitor, but optimizely is being blocked by NINE different lists known for blocking tracking & ads. I had to search for your Grandview urgent care’s phone number outside of your primary site because I couldn’t access your site to get it and didn’t want to lower my tracking shields.
I haven’t encountered this with other medical provider sites.
I hope that Ohio Health will reconsider this practice/test/campaign and that you’ll please share this feedback with your Communications/Marketing Department and your IT Department. Patients come to your site seeking information and care, not to be tracked, analyzed, profiled, experimented on, upsold, segmented, post-click tracked, converted, algorithmed, and messaged or marketed to.
