I just cranked out 1,200 words about the day my dad learned I was gay. That dumb 90s song “Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm” by Crash Test Dummies played when I was listening to music this morning. It triggered a need in me to write about that day. I think this is the first time I’ve actually written about it. I’ve got a lot of cleanup to do with it, but it’s a good first draft.
