I was driving downtown in the snow. But then walking.
This was after having had to move out of a home where I lived with my parents (but I wasn’t living with them) and I still had to pack up my stuff. There was this weird Disney-like place sort of surrounded by a rich neighborhood, and I was going around it. I got in trouble, like dangerous trouble, if I went too far into a rich person’s yard where they were having a party of some kind. There was a big parking lot and I had to go through it into some kind of wooded area. There was no place to go to the bathroom and I really had to go (the brown kind). It turned into a college campus with dorms (OSU). All of it was hard to navigate.
At some point I had a whistle and kept blowing into it but it wouldn’t sound. The little ball(s) kept getting stuck at the opening. I told Husband, “This whistle is worthless.”
Back to downtown in the snow, I remember having to get into a turning lane, then into a parking garage. I was walking, and I saw things on my walk like a bar (I think). Somehow I ended up in a church. It was empty and I laid down, sort of, in a pew. The service started and I went ahead and sat up. I was towards the front.
The minister started to interview someone on the stage. I remember thinking they had a good notice posted on what people should expect during the interview, but the notice was related to disabilities. It said things like, “If you require a chin strap to close your mouth…” And “If you need to watch in silence…” I was on the left side of the church. The minister called up someone from the congregation to do a reading and introduced them as, “Now here’s our asexual piano player.” People clapped and the minister was like, “Leave it to the librarians.”
The asexual piano player said they were going to do a reading from Ezekiel about circumcision. Then there was an image projected at the front of the church while they read - a sort of old drawing of string and knots. They read like a sentence or two and stopped as if they’d suddenly gone mute, like their microphone had been cut off.
The minister thanked them. Suddenly I was on the right side of the church and looked back and saw a former co-worker on the left side towards the back. I planned to leave whenever they stood up to sing, but they kept not standing up.
There was some literature that I found related to COFFRF having done or said something that pissed off a “pro-life” organization and they’d had a brochure of some kind printed about it.
I remember thinking my parents would be pleased to know I had gone to a church, but I wasn’t sure if I should say hi to my former co-worker.
Than I woke up.
