📸 Day 3: Precious I took this photo of Maggie in 2017 when she’d fallen asleep on Michael’s pillow. It was 2:00pm according to the time stamp, and in March of that year. She looks smaller than she actually is. I always liked the kind of soft glow the sun cast on her from the window.

The Prince Estate is re-releasing Diamonds and Pearls with a super deluxe edition and I can’t wait. I don’t listen to it often these days, but it was very influential to me in my formative years. For my 7th grade art project we had to draw something special as a still life. I was and still am a terrible drawer, but I brought in a sampling of my Prince collection at the time.

🥸 Randy Newman really wrote some scathing satire in his day. I quite love it. (Short People has always been a favorite but I’ve been exploring his catalog a little more deeply and have been really liking it.)

I gave this 2014 release by Cibo Matto a good listen the other day and really enjoyed it. I think I’m going to incorporate it into my rotation more regularly. Plus I friggin' love concept albums.

🤔 I still can’t help but wonder if I’m somewhere on the autism spectrum. My therapist never gives me a completely straight answer about it. I’ve not been diagnosed as such, but when I hear from other people who were late-diagnosed, their stories seem so similar to mine.

🧠 I watched a great webinar yesterday about neurodivergence at work and so much of it was so affirming. I’ve lived my whole life thinking I was bad, or lazy, or stupid about certain things and I’m not. My brain is just literally wired differently than what and who this world was built for.

THERAPY SESSION

I have a therapy appointment today. I started going in-person, but he’s not far away. He’s helping me navigate what it means to be neurodivergent. I still never know what to talk about. It’s not like I don’t have issues to unpack. I guess I just never know where to start. How to answer, “How are you?” I mean, you want the honest answer? I’ve lost all my passion, hobbies, and friends.
